The Duration of medical studies is 6 years, as it is in Germany. During these years, students are taught scientific subjects such as biology and anatomy, as well as clinical medicine. In terms of content, the study programme differs little from the study programme in Germany.

However, the way in which knowledge is imparted differs. There is no physics examination after the fourth semester. In many subjects, however, there are small weekly tests to keep students up to date at all times. There are also numerous compulsory practicals in small groups in which practical skills are taught.
