The study programme is structured similarly to that in Germany, Austria and many other EU countries. In the first four semesters, preclinical subjects are taught, which focus on the physiology of the human body. From the fifth semester onwards, practical teaching and the accompanying clinical subjects begin. From this point on, the previously acquired theory is practically applied, knowledge is deepened and further developed.

Palacky University in Olomouc
Today's Palacky University in Olomouc was founded by Jesuits in 1573. The public university has almost 170 professors and around 24,500 students. In addition to Czech degree programmes, it also offers a degree programme in human medicine and dentistry in English.
The study programme is structured similarly to that in Germany, Austria and many other EU countries. In the first four semesters, preclinical subjects are taught, which focus on the physiology of the human body. From the fifth semester onwards, practical teaching and the accompanying clinical subjects begin. From this point on, the previously acquired theory is practically applied, knowledge is deepened and further developed.
The English degree programme accepts about 65 applicants for human medicine and 20 applicants for dentistry every year. There are currently about 400 students enrolled in the English programme and about 1,400 students in the Czech programme.

Admission procedure
In order to be able to study at Palacký University, there are certain requirements that the application documents must meet. To ensure that enrolment is not a problem and that you can focus on the essentials, we take care of all the bureaucratic and complicated administrative procedures for you. This gives you more time to prepare for the written entrance exam. This consists of approximately 40 multiple-choice questions on the subjects of chemistry, biology, physics or mathematics. We not only provide you with a tutor, but also an e-learning platform with over 90 learning videos and test simulations.
Study medicine without NC and with a specialised baccalaureate
Unlike in Germany, the Palacky University in Olomouc allows anyone to study medicine without an NC. This means that your previous grade point average is not relevant. In addition, you have the opportunity to study medicine in the Czech Republic with a vocational baccalaureate.
