The founders of futuredoctor MUDr. Amandeep Grewal and MUDr. Andreas Zehetner have already been able to fulfil the dreams of hundreds of students. Having once been medical students abroad themselves, they can ideally put themselves in the students' shoes and convince and support students with their know-how and personal experience in coping with the admission procedure and medical studies.
But their commitment does not stop there. During the Covid 19 pandemic, they quickly realised that hospital capacities could soon be overloaded and medical staff would be overwhelmed with the workload. They responded to this with the nationwide and voluntary platform "match4healthcare". Using a specific algorithm, the innovation efficiently connects over 20,000 medical students and professionals willing to help with health facilities in need. With this arrangement, they succeeded in preventing a possible collapse of the health system. The match4healthcare platform went through the press and media and was also nominated for the German Engagement Award in 2021.
Amandeep and Andreas not only won the official support of the Federal Ministry of Health and the Federal Medical Association in Germany for that contribution, but also high praise from the German President. In August 2021, Dr Frank-Walter Steinmeier thanked Amandeep and Andreas with an invitation to close Bellevue for their extraordinary commitment to the Corona Crisis.
