Study programme & study language

Human medicine in English - 6 years of study, MUDr. title

In Martin, it is currently only possible to study human medicine. This degree programme lasts 6 years (12 semesters) full-time and leads to the professional doctorate MUDr., which corresponds to the Austrian Dr. med. univ.

The programme content is structured according to the European Bologna system and comprises 360 ECTS credits, spread over two semesters:

  • Preclinical modules (e.g. biology, chemistry, anatomy)

  • Clinical training with practical modules

  • Internships at Martin University Hospital

No dentistry degree programme available

Important to know: The Jessenius Faculty does not currently offer Studium der Zahnmedizin offered. So if you want to study dentistry specifically, you have to go to another faculty - e.g. Bratislava or Prague.

Written entrance test in English

To apply to study medicine in Martin, you must pass the entrance exam during the application process. The entrance exam is written in English and consists of multiple-choice questions in biology and chemistry. The entrance exam takes the form of a written single-choice test consisting of an equal number of biology and chemistry questions. The content of the entrance test does not exceed the content of a complete secondary school education in biology and chemistry. The test is designed to be fair, but requires intensive preparation.
