The Second Faculty of Medicine became independent in 1953 as the Faculty of Paediatrics. Therefore, the focus is traditionally on developmental aspects of medicine and paediatric disciplines, but we offer a complete education in both adult and paediatric medicine. The programme lasts six years and graduates are awarded the title MD.

Accreditation by the Medical Board of California makes it easier for our graduates to work in the United States. The Second Faculty is one of the smaller faculties. The favourable faculty-to-student ratio of 1:2 (in the English-language programme) and an individual approach improve the quality of teaching. As an international student, you basically know all your colleagues, so you can rely on friendliness and support within the group.

As a student of the Second Faculty, you can choose from a variety of study exchange programmes and internships abroad. You can spend a semester or the entire academic year at one of our partner universities in Europe and worldwide; complete a practical internship in hospitals and medical institutes worldwide; or participate in humanitarian medical missions. Pre-graduate students can also participate in the research of our faculty, both in theoretical and clinical subjects (basic and applied research).
