Admission procedure
Your path to studying medicine at the University of Zagreb, Croatia
To fulfil your dream of studying medicine at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Zagreb in Croatia you must first pass the entrance examination. The written exam consists of 120 multiple-choice questions - 40 questions each in biology, chemistry and physics, based on the curriculum of the upper secondary school.
To pass, applicants must achieve at least 15 correct answers per subject and at least 61 correct answers in total.
The following are exempt from the entrance examination:
Applicants who have completed a pre-medical college or have passed internationally recognised examinations (e.g. MCAT with at least 125 points per section)
Applicants with a BA/BSc degree in natural sciences with good performance in biology, chemistry and physics
Recognised degree and EU certification
Candidates who successfully complete the programme are awarded the internationally recognised title of Doctor of Medicine (MUDr.).
The quality of the Medical Studies in English (MSE) programme was assessed by the European Consortium for Accreditation (ECA) in 2015 and awarded the CEQUINT certificate for the quality of internationalisation.
As a state university, the university is fully accredited and is subject to licences from the Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Sport. The most recent accreditation was confirmed on 6 September 2024
