University of Health Sciences in Kaunas

Kaunas Medical University was founded in 2010 from the merger of two predecessor institutions. As the largest institution offering higher education, it successfully combines education and research.

Great emphasis is placed on combining theory and practice: the LSMU Kaunas University Hospital is considered one of the largest hospitals in Lithuania. It employs more than 2,200 doctors and cares for over 90,000 patients. Here, students have the opportunity to apply and consolidate their theoretical knowledge in practice. This practice-oriented teaching teaches medicine from the ground up and facilitates the understanding of interrelationships.

Students from many countries take advantage of the opportunity for practical medical training in Kaunas. The international networking of the university through cooperation with around 140 other universities also offers a broad field of research projects.

Over 125 places are available for international students each year. Of these, about 90 are for students of human medicine and 35 for students of dentistry.

For the academic year 2023/24, the tuition fee amounts to Ø 6,333€ / semester for General Medicine and Ø 6,800€ / semester for Dentistry.
