For many, the thought of studying abroad is intimidating, almost unimaginable. It's the beginning of a new chapter in life, and far away from home. Others, on the other hand, are enthusiastic about experiencing an exciting life in a foreign city, even in a foreign country, far away from home. In both cases, it is valuable to have good local support who can help with questions and problems. Studying medicine abroad comes not only with new academic challenges, such as organising the subjects at the university or managing the learning material, but also with the small challenges of everyday life in the new country, because a new country also means a new culture and a new language.

Optimal support before and after the start of studies

FutureDOCTOR not only helps you to be optimally prepared for the entrance test, but also enables you to make the settling in at the medical university a positive experience and is available for all possible questions. With the inclusive semester start package, which includes an anatomy atlas as well as the lab coat and dissecting instruments, the material for the anatomy lessons and the dissecting course is provided. This covers a successful start to medical studies abroad. However, student life and settling into your new everyday life are at least as important. That's why futureDOCTOR supports you in finding a place to live. It can be complicated to find a place to live in a foreign country where you don't necessarily speak the language. The local real estate agencies have a good overview of the flats and are able to find nice accommodation, depending on your preference, near the university or the old town. You have the option of moving into a flat on your own, or moving into a shared apartment or forming a shared apartment.

Making the first friends

Once you have made a start on your medical studies and found a suitable flat, you can really get started with student life and leisure activities.
If you haven't made any new acquaintances at the get-to-know-you weekend organised by futureDOCTOR before the entrance test, you will do so at the latest at the Ersti-Week or the Ersti-Party. The smaller study groups at the medical university make it easy to get in touch with fellow students. Before or after class, the variety of cafés and restaurants makes it easy to have nice conversations over a cup of coffee or lunch to get to know your surroundings better. At the same time, you can experience a piece of the culture through local restaurants and practise your first knowledge of the new language while ordering.

We are also there for you outside of your studies

You can also contact futureDOCTOR if you have any other problems, whether it's finding a local doctor for health problems or questions about the university itself. With futureDOCTOR's on-site support, settling into your new city is not only smooth and fun, but you also gain a valuable local resource with nice acquaintances and lots of information about the university and the city itself. This way, studying medicine abroad can begin without worries and with a lot of fun and joy!
